The HFEA has launched two consultations that will affect the way the regulator works with both patients and clinics. It is consulting on:
Presenting clinic performance and outcome data consultation
The HFEA is consulting on what how to present success rates and other information about clinics in the most useful and meaningful way.
The regulator is asking for contributions to help it consider the benefits of adopting a more holistic approach such as providing information about patient experience, clinical safety and quality of service of clinics.
This consultation is in two stages. Responses to the first stage must be received by 15th December.
Draft 8th Code of Practice and revised consent forms consultation
The new Code of Practice and revised consent forms have been devised to help clinics meet new legislative requirements and to incorporate feedback from patients and licensed clinics. The Authority is inviting responses to these consultations from clinics, patients, the public and anyone else who may be interested.
This consultation, and the second stage of the information consultation, are open until Wednesday 18th February 2009.
