As a Senior Fertility Nurse you will be a critical component to ensuring your team of dedicated nurse improve our patients’ chances of success to have a family and that their treatment journey is as positive as possible.

You will work in partnership with the Nurse Manager to grow a team of nurses by supporting, training and developing them, giving them the guidance they need to perform effectively as part of a team and a wider multi-disciplinary site.

You will also be hands on with your clinical responsibilities and you are expected to have an extended clinical role including ultrasound scanning and nurse prescribing. It is not essential for you to have these skills at the outset as will be provide excellent learning opportunities to develop the essential advanced clinical skills.

The Role

  • Undertake routine clinic duties and have an extended clinical role including ultrasound scanning and prescribing
  • Co-ordinate treatment cycle plans for CARE London and satellite clinics and teach patients to self-administer fertility drugs, obtain consent and ensure that patients are informed about the implications of their treatment
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and the HFEA Code of Practice
  • Participate in the on-call rota for the Emergency phone and be competent in dealing with queries appropriately

Who you are

Great team player? Real people person? Someone who loves helping others? As well as being passionate about patient care, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Essential to be a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife
  • Essential to have proven fertility/ IVF experience ideally with an ultrasound scanning and /or prescribing qualification.
  • An appreciation of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA)
  • Excellent verbal, numerical skills and proficient IT literacy
  • Act as a CARE Fertility ambassador and as a role model as an IVF Nurse and be accountable for own actions
  • A desire for continuous personal and professional development by reading relevant material and attending appropriately identified courses and conferences
