As a Donation Nurse/Midwife you’ll carry out virtual consultations with patients who need donated gametes to achieve their family, you’ll talk them through the practicalities and legal parenthood implications, providing advice, information, support and clinical care. This isn’t a clinical role, this is a consultation role.
You’ll make sure that all necessary consent forms are signed and you have provided them with full training of how to self- inject fertility drugs and administer other medications. From there you’ll be there with them through their next steps, supporting them on their journey until you have to hand them over to our Fertility Nurses for scans and procedures.
You’re a part of the Central Donation Team, which is responsible for the recruitment and assessment of egg donors and the Central Surrogacy Pathway. The Donation Team deal with patients requiring treatment with donated eggs and sperm. They play a key role in helping to create families for those otherwise unable to do so.
We‘ll ensure that you are fully trained in all Donation Services to enable you to provide information, support and clinical care throughout the patient’s journey. We’ll support your development and provide training ranging from consultations, through to qualifications in prescribing.
You’re a registered nurse or midwife, with current NMC registration and post registration experience working within an acute hospital setting / women’s health area, however you’re looking to move away from a clinical role into a consultation role.
Experience of scanning and phlebotomy would be preferred, but training can be provided.
You’re patient focused and deliver an excellent experience to all of your patients.
This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours over 3 days - we can be flexible with actual days. Working hours are between 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, however you’ll need to be flexible to the needs of our patients – so you may be required to work after 5pm or on weekends occasionally.
Working 3 days remotely. There will be an 8-week training plan based in our Manchester clinic on the 3 days (M14 5QH).
