We have an excellent opportunity for a Donation and Surrogacy Nurse to join our team. You will be responsible for meeting the individual needs of patients and their partners attending our respected clinic. You will work closely with patients to provide coordinate, plan and support Donor, Recipient and Surrogacy treatment cycles.

The Role

  • Supporting patients with the consent to treatment process
  • Ensuring patients are appropriately informed and aware of the consent requirements and implications
  • Teaching patients to inject fertility drugs and how to administer other medications during the treatment process
  • Arrange all appropriate appointments required by a prospective egg donor, egg sharer or sperm donor to ensure that patient is correctly screened prior to treatment cycle
  • Maintain and regularly audit a systematic egg donation waiting list
  • Seeing patients following referral from the Clinician as required, to discuss treatment through the egg donation programme
  • Communicate with patients on the donation waiting lists advising them of outstanding screenings when appropriate
  • Liaise with the embryologist responsible for allocation of donor sperm
  • Assist with the management of surrogacy cycles working closely with the clinician

Who you are

Great team player? Real people person? Someone who loves helping others? As well as being passionate about patient care, you’ll need the following skills:

  • A registered nurse or registered midwife
  • Essential to have post registration experience working within an acute hospital setting / Women’s health area
  • Desirable but not essential to have experience of gynae/obstetric, theatre experience, venepuncture and ultra-scanning
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal, numerical skills and IT
  • Act as a CARE Fertility ambassador and as a role model as an IVF Nurse and be accountable for own actions
  • A desire for continuous personal and professional development by reading relevant material and attending appropriately identified courses and conferences
