As a Specialist in O & G and Reproductive Endocrinology / IVF, performing following clinical function :
Consultation- to determine whether there are reasons in a couple’s health history that may trigger an underlying medical condition that is presenting as infertility that may require further evaluation.
Ultrasound- Detection and exclusion of any abnormalities of the pelvic organs (ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus). It also detects and excludes the uterine fibroids and polyps, hydrosalpinges, ovarian cysts, endometriomas, and polycystic ovaries.
Embryo Transfer- is a delicate placement of the embryos that were developed in vitro, into the uterus, with minimal trauma and manipulation. It is a short procedure between 10 to 20 minutes, normally painless and without any risk. Usually no anesthesia is necessary but patient may experience a little discomfort.
Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) - Follicles and eggs from a woman’s ovaries are stimulated to develop and then the mature eggs are removed from the ovaries by ultrasound guided follicular puncture.
Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE)- It is a surgical process by which the physician removes a small amount of tissue from one or both testicles for the extraction of viable, mature sperm to be used during fertilization procedures. It is often coupled with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) to increase the potential for fertilization. It is best done under general anesthesia.
Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)/ Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) - It is a non-surgical (no surgical incision) approach to sperm retrieval. With a fine needle, the one or both testicles are punctured and aspirated, in the hope of obtaining sperm cells. If FNA does not result in sufficient sperm, or if patient wishes to have sperm banked and stored, then TESE is the procedure of choice. It can be performed under local or general anesthesia.
Hysteroscopy - is a minimally invasive surgical procedure for viewing the inside of the uterus. It is performed by inserting a visualizing scope through the vagina and into the cervical opening. Hysteroscopy allows visualization of the inside of the uterus, including the openings to the Fallopian tubes, as well as direct examination of the cervix, cervical canal, and vagina.
