The Role

We have a new state of art laboratory in a purpose-built fertility clinic on the edge of Leeds city centre. Due to recent expansion our friendly, ambitious and dynamic embryology team are looking for a dedicated and experience HCPC registered Clinical Embryologist to join our team. You will be expected to have knowledge and experience of working with HFEA regulation, laboratory quality control, alongside all the clinical aspects of embryology treatment. As a clinical offering PGT, biopsy training is desired, however not essential. 

Since the clinic is specialised in Natural and Mild IVF, the candidate will be working with low egg and embryo numbers and attention to detail is essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the role requires patient contact and a close working relationship with a multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will work 40 hours per week plus participate in the weekend rotas.

  • Work in close partnership with the laboratory manager to ensure efficient day to day running of the embryology laboratory. 
  • Communication sensitivity with patient to provide individualised information and clinical care in a profession and empathetic manner.
  • Support and supervise junior members of the embryology team.
  • Assist with cryo management. 
  • Assist with maintenance of quality control.
  • Participate in data analysis and audit.
  • Discuss with patients and review clinic and regulatory consents.
  • Maintain excellent regulatory and clinical knowledge. 
  • Perform all aspects of clinical embryology including, TVOR’s, semen analysis, sperm preparations, ICSI, IVF inseminations, ET’s, Embryo & oocyte vitrification vitrification & warming.   
  • To participate in embryology meetings to share ideas, best practice, and continuous improvement.  
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all time.

Experience Required:  State Registered as Clinical Embryologist with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) (Essential - or on track to achieve via STP) ICSI practitioner (Essential) Biopsy practitioner (Desirable)
Education Required:  Life Sciences degree & Masters Degree (Essential)
Salary:  Dependent on Experience
