IVI London is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Reproductive Science Associate or Practitioner. The successful applicant will be required to work alongside the embryology team and will be expected to help with the daily duties in the andrology and embryology departments. The candidate will also be required to assist the laboratory teams with witnessing, data entry, administration, stock control and pre-treatment preparation/ quality assurance procedures.

Applications will be considered from candidates with a BSc in a Biological Science. Equivalent qualifications or laboratory based experience may be taken into account. Prior demonstrated competence in reproductive science and familiarity with the HFEA Code of Practice is advantageous. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, good attention to detail, and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful applicant will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Along with the ability to work in an organised, professional manner, with an interest in embryology and a passion for delivering high quality patient care.

The post includes the participation in the weekend rotas and is a full time position.

Experience Required:  Qualifications • Accredited Registration (Level 4 Diploma) • BSc(Hons) Degree in Life Science or equivalent Knowledge and Experience • Experience within the field of assisted conception and reproductive medicine • Evidence of being able to identify problems and show initiative in the laboratory • Knowledge and understanding of theory behind IVF and physiology of gametes/embryos • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team • Knowledge of HF & E Act and HFEA Code of Practice Skills • High degree of manual dexterity / hand-eye co-ordination • Able to work effectively and efficiently within in a busy IVF unit • Ability to accept responsibility for functions/procedures within a working environment • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team • Ability to work and stay calm under pressure • Ability to prioritise and organise • Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods • Ability to motivate self and others • To have a high level of IT literacy • Able to time manage effectively and meet deadlines • Good presentation skills • Able to assess situations and suggest possible solutions in order to enhance the service Personal Disposition • Highly professional attitude • Meticulous and precise approach to work • Committed and able to deliver the highest possible standard of service at all times • Understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality • Team player • Approachable and understanding manner • Flexible and adaptable • Excellent communicator; especially able to deal empathetically with patients • Committed to professional development of self and others
