As a Donation Nurse you’ll carry out virtual consultations with patients who need donated gametes to achieve their family, you’ll talk them through the practicalities and legal parenthood implications, providing advice, information, support and clinical care
You’ll make sure that all necessary consent forms are signed and you have provided them with full training of how to self- inject fertility drugs and administer other medications. From there you’ll be there with them through their next steps, supporting them on their journey until you have to hand them over to our Fertility Nurses for scans and procedures.
You’ll also be involved in supporting patients who require surrogacy to achieve their family.
The Donation Team deal with patients requiring treatment with donated eggs and sperm. They play a key role in helping to create families for those otherwise unable to do so. You’ll work closely with the Group Donation Lead as we have a continuity of donation processes across the Group.
We‘ll ensure that you are fully trained in all Donation Services to enable you to provide information, support and clinical care throughout the patient’s journey. We’ll support your development and provide training ranging from phlebotomy, through to qualifications in prescribing.
You’re a registered nurse or midwife, with current NMC registration and post registration experience working within an acute hospital setting / Women’s health area.
You’re patient focused and deliver an excellent experience to all of your patients.
