I am excited to be writing you regarding the Trainee Embryologist position. I am highly intrigued in the topics of Reproductive Science and I believe that the role requirements match my education, research and training experience perfectly.
I am currently an Intern Medical Biological Scientist at the Reproductive Biology Laboratory at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Having the opportunity to work and train as an Intern Embryologist over the past 18 months has provided insight into my future career goals and achievements. Throughout my studies, I have pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Genetics and an Honours Degree in Human Genetics.
The current internship has improved my knowledge, communication skills and understanding of Reproductive Science through case studies, research assignments, presentations as well as attending journal clubs and lectures. The attention to detail and organisation skills required in this field has heightened my interest and is a life-long passion of mine. I am a diligent, hard working person that is eager to continuously learn and adapt to different situations. I have a strong ability to apply knowledge and practical skills in Embryology. Additionally, the internship has provided interpersonal skills where I am able to productively work as an individual and as a team. I am a self-motivated individual and having seen the success of IVF/ICSI treatments promotes additional motivation.
Furthermore, I will go to any lengths to achieve something I have set my mind to and I thrive in challenging situations. It is my belief that, if given the opportunity, I will be an excellent candidate for this position.
