WHO SEMEN ANALYSIS 2010 CRITERIA WORKSHOP: ACE India
Parag Nandi, Academy of Clinical Embryologists, Academy of Clinical Embryologists 18 March 2014 Dear Doctors ACE- Academy of clinical embryologists is conceived with an idea of bringing Infertility experts including clinicians and embryologists on a platform where they can interact and share their knowledge about developments in Infertility/reproductive sciences. This society was started in the year 2010 by few senior embryologists in India. . Today ACE has more than 250 members and numbers are increasing day by day. ACE has single motive to work, Share and spread knowledge about latest developments in Infertility/Clinical Embryology. This motive has been fulfilled by organizing two International conferences on Embryology and developments in ART in last two years at Delhi, Bangalore respectively. This year 3rd International conference is going to be held at Indore (Madhya Pradesh) from 8th to 10th august 2014 at Hotel Radisson Blu. Details are available on our website www.aceindia2014.com . We have semen analysis as first line diagnostics for detecting male factor infertility. Semen analysis is performed by different laboratories by different ways which leads to more confusion than conclusion. There is a need of standardizing semen analysis in India. We at ACE have taken this initiative by organizing series of workshop on semen analysis based on WHO 2010 criteria. Last year it has been organized at 4 places which is attended by large no of participants and was huge success. The unique feature of this workshop is that the Course is conducted by Dr Daniel Franken from South Africa who is an authority in Andrology. He was part of the WHO task force for standardizing semen analysis. He has designed a unique workshop which is combination of pre assessment test, lectures, practical hands on training on Semen analysis including Count, Motility, Vitality and Morphology and then again post workshop evaluation. Another unique feature of this workshop is after successful completion you get certificate approved by WHO with a kit which contains pre stained reference slides.
