Semen Analysis is the cornerstone of evaluation and management of the infertile couple. It is often the only investigation done for the male partner and the results of the analysis very often determine the course and nature of treatment. There is a lot of variation in the way in which the semen analysis is carried out in different labs. The reference ranges used are different, the procedure and the personnel carrying out vary too. This variability makes comparison, communication and interpretation difficult. WHO (World Health Organization) has formulated the new criteria for semen analysis in 2010. The new criteria are more evidence based and reflect the fertility potential of infertile male more accurately.

In order to standardize the technique of semen analysis in accordance with the WHO 2010 criteria, ACE is organizing a two day hands on workshop at Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore from 11th to 16th February 2013. The lead faculty, Dr. Daniel Franken is the Director of Reproductive Research Lab at University of Stellenbosch, Tygerberg, South Africa. He is involved in development of the new WHO criteria and has conducted numerous semenology workshops across the world.  This is a hands on workshop with one microscope per candidate and close interaction with faculty. The seats are limited to 30 candidates in each city.
