The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fertility Doctor to join our team at Centre for Reproduction & Gynaecology Wales based at our Llantrisant clinic. CRGW is a private fertility centre providing a multitude of treatments, patient care and support to those seeking help and assistance to have a family. At CRGW we pride ourselves on our patient centred care and ethos, this would need to be a high priority for the successful applicant.

You will need to be a skilled professional with experience in assisted conception

The post holder must have a full GMC registration and will work with the other doctors within the clinic.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest standard of  care. To respectfully co-ordinate, support and (when requested), supplement the efforts of the other members of the ART team i.e. nursing, embryology, counselling, administration and quality assurance for the optimum performance of the Clinic. The importance of teamworking, mutual support and respect in a multidisciplinary team setting is paramount, as is an appreciation of the need to be punctual and flexible in the delivery of services outside standard office hours when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Consultations
  • Undertaking egg collections
  • Embryo transfer lists
  • IUI
  • Attendance to clinical and team meetings
  • Work closely with medical, nursing and other colleagues to offer the highest level of patient care
  • Support the group with the continuous development and improvement of all treatment offerings
  • Audits/updating clinical protocols
  • SSR
  • To be involved in patient open evenings

Qualifications and experience

  • Full GMC Registration
  • High Diploma (Fellowship or Membership) of Speciality College MRCOG or equivalent
  • Previous experience in Fertility and assisted conception techniques
  • Effective communication skills regarding medical topics with both patients and colleagues
  • Patient focused attitude
  • An understanding of the biology and scientific evidence underpinning clinical practice
  • Knowledge of the HFEA Code of Conduct
  • An understanding of the work of related disciplines
  • An appropriate level of supervision and management skills
  • An understanding of prevailing legislation
  • An understanding of, and ability to apply, quality assurance and monitoring of clinical performance
