Thames Valley Fertility is housed in a state of the art, purpose built facility in Maidenhead and is ideally located with easy access by car, with free parking available, or public transport, with the train station a walkable distance (<40minutes from central London, on the Paddington line).
The Deputy Laboratory Manager is to provide effective day to day supervision of the embryology and andrology services (including effective rota management), the supervision and training of junior embryology staff, ensure appropriate laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures, quality management, monitoring of laboratory performance, troubleshooting and audits. In the absence of the Laboratory Manager the post holder will be expected to deputise for the duties of the Laboratory Manager. The position is full time 37.5hrs/week and will require some weekend and out of hours work, including participation in an on-call rota. Consideration will be given to candidates looking for flexible working hours.
The post holder’s roles include clinical liaison, non-routine clinical decision making within the embryology laboratory and responsibility for matters relating to the HFEA. These tasks are in addition to the normal working expectations of an embryologist within the Thames Valley Fertility team.
