For over 20 years, London Women’s Clinic in Wales - Cardiff, Swansea and sister clinic in Bristol has successfully provided clinical services to both private and NHS patients and we have a hugely successful frozen donor egg programme. We are the only private clinic in Wales to offer the Scientist Training Programme (STP) in Reproductive Science and we would expect the successful candidate to be involved in its’ ongoing training and supervision. Training will also be provided on PGT (pre-implantation genetic testing). We also have active research collaborations with Cardiff University and AIVF.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed Clinical Embryologist to join an established, dynamic and multidisciplinary team at our licensed fertility clinic based in Cardiff city centre.

Main duties:

  • Perform all aspects of IVF treatment cycles, including ICSI and embryo biopsy, as well as undertake regular audits and analyses of laboratory protocols and results and report findings to senior management when required.
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of HFEA practice and laboratory audit experience.
  • Be fully aware of, and responsible towards, the legislative framework governing IVF, to ensure complete compliance with the paperwork and correspondence with patients and the HFEA.
  • Co-ordinate the efforts of the other components of the IVF team i.e. nursing, embryology, counselling and administration for the optimum performance of the Centre and be responsible for coordinating the Sperm Bank Wales programme.


  • Prior experience of embryo biopsy; PGD and oocyte freezing would have an advantage.
  • Hold an ACE certificate/Diploma in Clinical Embryology/BSc and be a licenced ICSI practitioner.
  • Obtained HCPC State Registration.
  • Previous hands-on experience within an IVF laboratory is essential and evidence of individual success rates will be requested upon application.


  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure whilst offering exceptional patient care at all times.
  • Experience and/or flare for marketing activities such as public speaking and event management are encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time position (40hrs per week) which also includes weekends on a rota basis. Occasional travel to other clinic locations within the UK will be required on and as and when required basis. A competitive salary commensurate with the level of relevant experience is available for the successful candidate.
