Profile and objectives

I am a Reproductive Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist, aiming to provide the best quality of care possible to my patients. I collaborate with other Healthcare professionals to achieve a holistic approach to the patient's needs and aspirations. I keep my knowledge and skills up to date through Continuing Professional Development activities.

Main resume

I run my Private Practice Reproductive Medicine Clinic, where I accept referrals for couples experiencing reproductive problems, or seeking information regarding cryopreservation of genetic material. I am responsible for their initial management blood work up and treatment plan according to individual needs and indications. All female partners additionally undergo 3D Gynaecological Ultrasound assessment.

I follow up my IVF patients throughout the controlled ovarian stimulation or ovulation induction period with Follicular Tracking and review of the blood results (Oestradiol, FSH and LH), so as to achieve the best possible recruitment of oocytes and trigger their final maturation which will lead them to the Transvaginal Egg Collection (TVOR). I perform TVOR independently and competently. I have been involved in many Transabdominal egg collections as well, some of which I have performed under supervision.

Following TVOR I run sessions of Embryo Transfers with a success rate of positive pregnancy test of above 40% per transfer.Ovulation Induction Clinics is another Specialist Clinic I run. Patients with Ovulation Disorders are assessed in my Clinic and started on treatment with Clomiphene Citrate, Letrozole or FSH injections according to the indication of each case. I also perform independently Percutaneous Epidydimal Sperm Aspiration (PESA) and Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA).

In my previous post I was responsible for running Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) clinics, where patients with known, potentially inheritable genetic conditions, were referred after Genetic Counselling. Given the complexity of these cases, a Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDT) would take place each week where further details of each case were discussed. Additional sessions that I was running in the unit included the Cover Doctor and Follow-up clinics, and the Hystero Contrast Sonography List (HyCoSy). The Cover Doctor would involve emergency cases review, including Ovarian Hyperstimulation (OHSS) cases, Early Pregnancy complications patients, review after Fresh Cycle, Embryo Transfer cancellation (e.g. due to OHSS), Stimulation Cycle complications and Male Fertility Preservation patients. I would also review patients with failed cycle in the Follow Up Clinics to further explain the events of the failed cycle and to advise the next step of treatment. Additionally, I was responsible for the care of admitted patients in St Thomas' Gynaecology ward when I was on call.Finally I was actively participating in performing or assisting in operative lists at St Thomas' for patients that needed to undergo Laparoscopic, Hysteroscopic or Open Surgical approach procedures for treatment of Reproductive Medicine or General Gynaecology Pathologies.
