We have an excellent opportunity for an Acting Laboratory Manager to join us on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract based in our London clinic. In this role you will be responsible for the day- to- day management and development of the embryology service.

Your extensive background in IVF laboratory management will aide your ability to lead your busy, dynamic and cohesive embryology team. CARE London performs over 1000 fresh cycles annually and offers PGT-A, PGT-Sr/M and an increasing proportion of CAREmaps (CARE’s own time lapse algorithm for embryo selection).

The Role

In addition to being an experienced IVF Laboratory Manager, you will:

  • Demonstrate leadership and motivation within the embryology team and promote team working.
  • Generate and analyse monthly results and participate in clinical and results meetings.
  • Produce monthly Lab Managers reports and attend the Executive meeting as required.
  • Perform the full range of clinical embryology procedures- including participating in bench work.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all practices and activities in the embryology laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate records of cryopreserved gametes and embryos and to conduct audits in line with embryology SOPs.
  • Openly share knowledge with colleagues and being a supportive mentor to others.

The Person

  • HCPC state registered embryologist.
  • Competent in performing all routine IVF procedures including ICSI, Embryo Biopsy, vitrification and Embryoscope time lapse annotation. 
  • Proven people management ability including performance management, training, support and supervision.
  • Computer literate, able to use clinical databases and digital systems.
  • Strong team player, able to work effectively with the entire multi-disciplinary team including satellite staff.
  • Understand the requirements of the EUTD and be an active member of ACE.
  • Able to influence colleagues at all levels of seniority to change and improve practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Act as a CARE Fertility ambassador
  • A desire for continuous personal and professional development
