Dr. Richard Marrs is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He attended medical school and completed postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas. Dr. Marrs completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California. During his fellowship training, he acquired skills in cell culture; studied the ultrasound monitoring of follicle development; and along with Drs. Vargyas and March developed ovarian stimulation protocols; all of which would play essential roles in establishing this country's second In Vitro Fertilization program in 1981. He made medical history in 1986 with the first pregnancy from a thawed frozen embryo.
Dr. Guy Ringler is a board certified physician in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a partner with California Fertility Partners. Dr. Ringler graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in OB/GYN at the University of Chicago, and sub-specialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ringler conducted molecular biology research on the regulation of placental function in the laboratory of Dr. Jerome Strauss, and trained with the renowned reproductive surgeons: Drs. Luigi Mastroianni and Celso Garcia. He was awarded the first Nettie Karpin Award by the Endocrine Society and Serono Symposia.
Dr. Kelly Baek is a board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology who began her education at the Marlborough School in Los Angeles. She then travelled east and graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University. She earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York University Medical Center. During her residency, Dr. Baek received research awards from the New York Obstetrical Society and the Bellevue Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.
Dr. Charles March is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship trained in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Following medical school and residency in New York, he completed fellowship training at the University of Southern California where he remained as faculty. During his 30-year tenure at USC, he was professor and Chief of the Division of Gynecology. He worked with Drs. Marrs and Vargyas on the development of ovarian stimulation regimens. Together, they introduced ovarian ultrasound as a method to monitor the ovarian response to fertility drugs. In addition to his academic duties, Dr. March maintained a solo private practice in Glendale.
Doctor Bronte Stone is the technical director of our IVF laboratory and of Reproductive Technology Laboratories, a licensed clinical laboratory and tissue bank serving more than 300 physicians in fertility-related specialties in California and throughout the country.
After obtaining his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in agriculture, and then a Ph.D. in Medicine, Dr.Bronte Stone joined California Fertility Partners in 1986 to establish its research and clinical laboratories. Dr. Stone is certified with the American Board of Bioanalysts as a director of laboratories performing high complexity clinical testing, and oversees a team of technicians and scientists who perform routine clinical testing as well as research in all elements of the assisted reproductive technologies.
Leading oocyte cryopreservation expert, Dr.Li Meng, Ph.D. has joined California Fertility Partners as our Scientific Director to establish an egg freezing program. He is a pioneer in the field of oocyte cryopreservation and has helped to develop the media, protocol, and techniques used in oocyte vitrification. He has successfully vitrified over 3000 oocytes. His expertise also extends into micromanipulation, in vitro oocyte maturation, and preimplantation genetics diagnosis (PGD). Dr. Meng received his doctorate in reproductive physiology from North Carolina State University and Beijing Agricultural University’s joint program. He completed his post-doctoral training in embryology at the University of Western Ontario, Canada and the Oregon Regional Primate Research Center. Dr. Meng's research on nuclear transfer and replacement of oocyte cytoplasm has won national recognition. |
